Hi All,
I run a dating events company called FUSE, (we organise singles events such as wine tasting, networking, beer tasting, balls and so on.) and I always have the same problem: A lack of men!
Women's tickets always sell out well in advance and I believe many of them are on-line searching for such things. But how do I find and 'capture' the men??
Can anyone offer advice on marketing strategies which work particularly well toward the male species?
Thank you,
Kerry :-)
Where do men generally go to relax? Pubs. It's our natural environment!
Something you could do is co-partner with local pubs in your area. Perhaps offer to organise a discounted singles event in their pub one evening in return that they promote the event through flyers, beer mats, posters and a mention on their website (if they have one). This would work well with a beer tasting event, and i'm sure landlords would be happy to get involved with something like this for the extra influx of visitors they will recieve.
You could even give the landlord a sample of tickets they could then pass on to their regulars in a ‘Buy a round of drinks & get a free ticket to singles event’ promotion.
There are many ideas you could expand on, but if you’re looking to capture blokes the best place to start is the pub.
Thanks very much Mark! This is a very good idea!
I realise I should have posted this much sooner now...!
I really appreciate your advce,
Kerry
LOL! Well we have the same problem as you. Guess it's not a problem as such for us, being a bingo website, but I can see how this is a fundamental block for you.
How about doing some kind of joint promo with a 'blokes' website. I know a great one if you want to take this to Twitter @bingoreviewer ;-)
Maybe you could try contacting meetup group organisers, for typically male meetup groups? See if they will let you email their members in return for something?

Hope that helps!

Thank you Nikki!
I guess you would attract more women too!
I am based in Bristol so a site based here would be great - I will do some research today!
Many thanks
Kerry
I would tend to agree with what has been said about marketing a bit perhaps in pubs. But the main issue is that when men see these ads which are "typically" showing very beautiful women, young, sexy, lingerie wearing model type women they are lead to believe two things 1) its a scam or 2) there is no way in hell there are going to be women near that standard at these things.
Its a difficult thing to bring in the men. As for being based in Bristol I would suggest you go to Dragon Kiss on whiteladies road and talk to Kiem about offering some sort of promotion or at least putting some marketing material in the bar.
Thank you sean! Perhaps as a 'web person' you could also advise on the website - do you think it's girlie and therefore attracting more women??
I am thinking about doing a bit of a re-design to make it more 'cool'..?

Thank you!
Kerry,
Certainly send me an email when you get a second sean@ibox-security.co.uk and we can have a good chat about it (im in bristol next week on Wednesday I think if you want to arrange a sit down to talk about it).
It is fairly girly I would say and perhaps a redesign or at least re-jig would greatly benefit the site certainly along the SEO/Social Media side you could be bringing into it.
Give me a shout on twitter @seanprice
