Online tool launched to help firms find the right recruit

Small businesses which are recruiting can get help finding the right candidate, following the launch of a free online personality questionnaire by HR assessment firm Finding Potential.

The online Sifting Questionnaire can help employers search through job applications and match a candidate's personality to a particular role.

The form takes around 15 minutes for potential recruits to complete and assesses a range of character traits, such as conscientiousness and emotional stability. Once completed the findings are sent back in a 15-page report. Businesses can also access free worksheets to help them interpret the results.

To access the questionnaire firms need to create a free user account. The questionnaire can then be used repeatedly, free of charge and without obligation.
For a fee, firms can also choose to customise their questionnaires, from adding their own logo to creating a secure candidate log in.

"Assessment testing helps businesses to find people who are right for the job, and are likely to enjoy their work and perform well," said Finding Potential managing director, Ron Eldridge.

"Any small business that has been through the pain, the expense and the distraction of hiring the wrong person will appreciate the value of testing, but up to now the high cost of assessments has been a significant barrier," he added.
