Best of British businesses offered £50k boost

Outstanding small firms with a compelling product or service can compete to win a package of support worth £50,000, following the launch of Siemens’ British Business Boost competition.

The British Business Boost contest aims to help businesses grow by offering the winning firm a package including a Siemens IT communications system, a modular leadership support programme from owner-manager training firm Your Business Your Future and a team-building day out at adventure park GoApe. Three runners-up will also participate in the leadership course.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, with their fantastic successes and creativity, but they often don’t get the recognition, practical support, or even the opportunity to learn from peers, that they deserve,” said Siemens Enterprise Communications channel sales director, Leon Mangan.

“The British Business Boost will give owner-managers and entrepreneurs the real resources, networking opportunities and the practical support that they need,” he added.

Applicants are required to enter the competition online, describing their business, why there is a gap in the market for their product or service, what sets it apart from others, what their biggest challenges are and how they plan to grow their business.

Eligible businesses must have ten to 100 employees. The deadline for entries is 31 July.
