Deadline approaching for online business awards

Nationwide exposure and a potentially profitable profile boost are the rewards awaiting winners of the 2010 Digital Entrepreneur Awards.

Described by the organiser as “the UK’s only award ceremony dedicated to online business excellence”, the free-to-enter awards are sponsored by webhost UKFast and recognise online achievement and innovation in businesses of all sizes.

The 15 award categories are not aimed specifically at web development companies, but recognise the full range of entrepreneurial activities online. Prizewinners will include the Design and Marketing Entrepreneur of the Year, the Digital Employer of the Year and the Ecommerce Entrepreneur of the Year.

“The awards have provided previous winners with credibility, a reward for the staff and, for one business, trade has doubled since they won last year,” said UKFast’s communications director, Jonathan Bowers.

“The ceremony itself is a brilliant night, and a good chance to network and get to know other people in the industry,” he added.

Co–founder of 2009 winner i–education, Michael Wilkinson, said: “It’s allowed people to see that there is some really creative and innovative work happening at our small business in Doncaster.”

Firms can apply by filling out a simple online form by 17 September. The award ceremony will take place at The Palace Hotel, Manchester, on 1 December.
