HSE launches office risk assessment tool

Office-based businesses can quickly complete their health and safety risk assessment, following the launch of an online tool by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).

The HSE tool allows users to produce a tailored assessment by selecting the relevant hazards and thinking about how they control them. The tool should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

According to an HSE spokesperson, the tool is aiming to make clear to office firms that the assessment of low-risk workplaces can be done quickly and easily.

By law, every business must complete a health and safety risk assessment – and firms with five staff or more must keep a written record.
